Adoption Process

At Southern Charm Cattery, we strive to make the adoption process smooth, transparent, and enjoyable for every family. Below is a step-by-step guide on how to reserve and bring home your new kitten.

Please Note:
For the safety and health of our cats and kittens, we do not allow in-home visits. This policy helps protect our kittens from outside illnesses and ensures a calm, secure environment for all of our cats. We are more than happy to FaceTime with kittens prior to placing a deposit so you can see them and ask any questions.

1. Join the Waitlist
All potential buyers must first join our free waitlist before purchasing a kitten—even if we currently have kittens available. This helps keep our process fair and organized for everyone.

2. Fill Out a Kitten Application
Our kitten application allows us to learn more about you and ensure our kittens are the right fit for your home and lifestyle.

3. Reserve Your Kitten
Once your application is approved and a kitten becomes available that matches your preferences, you may place a $100–$400 deposit (depending on breed) to reserve your kitten.

• The deposit holds your specific kitten until pick-up
• Deposits are non-refundable but transferable for up to one year
• A signed Deposit Agreement is required to confirm your reservation

4. Pick-Up Location & Meeting Options
Southern Charm Cattery is located in Bulls Gap, Tennessee.

• We offer free meet-up within 100 miles of Bulls Gap
• Travel beyond 100 miles is available at $0.50 per mile
• We do not travel more than 220 miles one way

Please note: We do not offer shipping under any circumstances. This ensures the safety and well-being of our kittens.

5. Kitten Pick-Up Age
Kittens are ready to go home at 8 weeks of age. We do not allow kittens to leave earlier to ensure they are fully socialized, healthy, and properly prepared for their new homes.

6. Final Payment
The remaining balance is due at or before pick-up. Accepted payment methods and arrangements will be discussed and confirmed ahead of time.

7. Bringing Your Kitten Home
Once your kitten is home, the real fun begins—expect lots of snuggles, playful moments, and unconditional love.

Your journey with Southern Charm Cattery doesn’t end at pick-up. We provide lifetime breeder support, and you are always welcome to reach out with questions, updates, or concerns. We truly enjoy staying connected and watching our kittens grow and thrive in their new homes.
